The Significance of the Study: The significance of this study emanates from ¿ focusing on the issue of trafficking in women in Jordan which is the first academic thesis about such topic. As well as, this study is new since this issue has not been considered in the Arab region, specifically when the trafficked women are from the Arab neighboring countries. Stakeholders in the Arab region still closing their eyes and trying to ignore the fact that trafficking is a serious problem and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Moreover those vulnerable victims need our efforts to help them at all levels: prevention, protection and prosecution. This study is trying to provide some information on the scope of trafficking in women in Jordan. Also it provides an analysis about the socio-economic backgrounds of the victims. This analysis helps in designing preventive methods to combat human trafficking. The study also aims to provide an analysis of the Jordanian Legislation against trafficking in humans more specifically the new trafficking in persons prevention law which was entered into forced in 2009 as well as, other related laws.
