In the teaching-learning process, evaluation of trainees attempts to measure whether the objectives of a subject or a course have been met. This is especially true in a situation, when assessment is used to evaluate trainees performance in school training. A variation occurs when assessment may not be in line with the intended learning outcomes and the assessment criteria used may not be consistent. In addition to this, trainees often cannot undertake a course of study unless they have a sound foundation of prior knowledge and skills. Therefore, assessment enables trainees to get clear idea of current levels of achievement as a potential predictor for their progress.
