Kenya School of Government is the main agency in training the Civil Service with tripartite mandate of training, research and consultancy. It is imperative therefore that the management of this school must have a good idea on how well the institution is attaining its training objectives. The current instrument used in evaluating effectiveness of training gauges participant's satisfaction, therefore not providing an effectiveness measure of the training programmes; hence skills, knowledge and attitudes as key learning aspects are not effectively measured, bringing about the training programme effectiveness not being evaluated. This book is as a result of a study whose main purpose was to evaluate training effectiveness of Civil Service Personnel at the Kenya School of Government in Kenya. The book concludes that the five key issues that account for trainee satisfaction are; Knowledge of facilitators and course objective, opportunity to practice learning, training environment, participatory training delivery methods and programme duration and pace. The authors recommend that the school should relook their current training facilities and the course evaluation policy and techniques.
