This study was aimed at developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of a training program for infection control nurses through: a) Determining nurses' knowledge, practice and attitude towards infection control, b) Proposing a training program for infection control nurses, c) Validating the components of the proposed training program by experts, and d) Implementing the training program. Nurses had defective knowledge, negative attitudes, and inadequate performance related to infection control before implementation of the training program. Significant improvements were revealed after program implementation in nurses' knowledge and attitudes. The performance of job description duties slightly improved after the program, but still most of the nurses had inadequate practice
