This book is the first attempt to cataloguing the tramp species of Ants from Indian subcontinent with input from Jammu-Kashmir Himalaya, which is already listed as fragile. Dr. Yash P. Sharma is working on ecology of high altitude insects, especially the Ants from Himalaya. He has surveyed whole of the Indian Himalaya from Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh, adjoining to Pakistan, China, Nepal and Tibet up to 4500 meters above msl and discovered new species of Ants from this fragile ecosystem.
