An experimental poem anthology penned over a five year period, Trance Metamorphic was designed to be a trance-formational journey through bizarre experiences of myriad souls in the modern world and beyond. These poems dive into areas mundane, ethereal and even hyper metafictional. Topics and genres cover anywhere from a screenplay masquerading as poem about a screenwriter feuding with his character all the way to a science fiction story about a woman who claims to have spotted her boyfriend's replica. Partly inspired by poems and prose by Federico Garcia Lorca, Charles Bukowski, Jose Rivera, John Keats, Paul Auster, Franz Kafka, Allen Ginsberg, James Merrill, Pablo Neruda, James Joyce, Charles Simic and James Tate, the book pushes the boundaries on what a poem can be. At the end, the book includes a surreal short story by the author about a bank cashier who must pass a series of strange tests in order to get a security position that can pay for his dying wife's medical procedure.
