Recent years have seen the introduction and rapid development of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial electrical stimulation (tES). This book reviews these recent advances made in the understanding of brain stimulation techniques. The text presents the wide range of possible brain stimulation applications in combination with neuroimaging and discusses what new information can be gained from using this technique on the dynamics of brain functions, hierarchical organization, and effective connectivity. With this timely resource, the authors aim to make a substantial impact on many areas of clinical and basic neuroscience.
