The current global economic configuration requires organizations to have the ability to reinvent themselves, and this self-transformation is enhanced by the performance of a leadership that is aware of the needs of its followers and attuned to ways of leading the organization along innovative and successful paths. Several organizational theories state that innovation and leadership are elements of great importance. The fundamental objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between transformational leadership and innovation in education. The results show that the relationship between transformational leadership and innovation adopters of "early adopters" and "late majority" type is positive and significant, whereas the relationship between transformational leadership and adopters of "early majority" and "laggards" type is not significant.
