The ancient philosophical concept of Dharma, the role of the King as Ruler of the ruled in the discharge of his duties for the common good of the citizenry has been elaborately presented. A qualitative analysis through a review of literature of nearly two centuries has been presented to arrive at the conclusions. An empirical data (with the intellectual perceptions) has been collected and tested to know the opinions of the Respondents in this area and to present statistically significant analysis and a result which paved a way to give suitable suggestions and recommendations to the present and future scholarly works. Also, compared different approaches in restorative justice practices that are being practiced by different countries all over the globe for a better understanding of the subject under study.

The author is a former Judge of the High Court of Telangana, India presently holding the post of Judge, Judicial Preview, GoAP, India. He has an LL.D (Post Doctoral Fellow) from Chanakya National Law University, Patna, India, Ph.D. in Law from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh, India, LL.M & M.Com. Authored several books and articles.
