Social movements can improve the well-being of men and women but are frequently analysed through a gender-neutral lens. Alison E. Woodward is Research Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium. Jean-Michel Bonvin is lecturer at the University of Western Switzerland, Lausanne, Switzerland. Mercè Renom is historian and researcher at the Institut Interuniversitari d'Estudis de Dones i Gènere (Interuniversity Institute for Women and Gender Studies), Barcelona, Spain.
