OM Philippines-Cebu Ministries, a faith-based Christian organization, started as a result of MV Doulos' 2001 visit in Cebu City. During the ship's visit, the ship's crew and staff befriended the street children in the port area. When the ship left, together with young volunteers, I led the team and developed the work among the street children for the last ten years. Its work has been specifically among the poor through children's programs in partnership with local Protestant churches. OM Philippines has been exploring new strategies to expand its work while incorporating the Christian biblical approach towards holistic community development. This case study aims to show where OM Philippines needs to improve its working relationship with partner churches in their collaborative service among the poor.
