Transgenics is a recurring subject in social, economic, scientific and ethical discussions. From this perspective, given the topicality and relevance of the issue, there is an increasing demand for society to understand and know how to position itself in relation to it. School is therefore the place where citizens should learn scientific knowledge on the subject. However, research into science education has shown that there is still a huge gap in society's knowledge of transgenics, leading to mistaken opinions and interpretations. In this way, this study sought to investigate how primary school students in a municipality located in the Amazon region understand transgenics. Come and see the results!
