After failing First Grade, the author graduated high school. Worked and lived on a farm for 5 years. He receives a Bachelor's Degree with Majors in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry. He teaches math and science at the high school level. He earns graduate school credits at the University of Scranton, Rutgers University, Cornell University, New York University, and receives a Master's degree from Lehigh University and a Doctoral degree from Columbia University. After completing a year of post-doctoral study at the Institute for Advanced Study of Rational Psychotherapy, he serves as a guidance counselor for 5 years. Appointed to the Graduate Faculty of Columbia University and Frostburg State University, he teaches at the graduate school level for 8 years. Dr. Garrahan then serves as the Director of the Pupil Personnel Services and District Superintendent of Schools for 12 years. He is retired and resides in Kingsport, TN.
