Findings of the study are also relevant to Maslow's hierarchy of needs model, Goffman's theory of total institutions, and symbolic interactionist notions about identity changes subsequent to institutionalization. Autorenporträt
completed her doctorate in Sociology in May 2007 at Case Western Reserve University. Her area of specialization is gerontology, with a focus on quality of life of older adults residing in long-term care facilities. In January, 2008 she began a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research at Brown University.
