This book touches on the translation of poetry. The author, Professor Dr. Arif Karkhi Abukhudairi, begins his book by asking, is poetry translatable? And to answer his question, he examines some interesting views of distinguished Arab figures, including Jahiz, Jurjani, and Tahtawi, and then he concludes his discussion by introducing his own views on the subject. This theoretical discussion, however, is a mere introduction to the book as the major part of it is devoted to studying several Arabic translations of poetic works, including 'The Prophet' of Gibran Khalil Gibran, and the author's Arabic translations of a number of books of poems from Korean, Malaysian, Bruneian, Persian, and English literature.
