The educational reform in Namibia has proposed pedagogical changes in the classrooms, namely the introduction of learner-centred education. Theories about educational policy implementation and their implications for teaching underline the notion that educational reform is a 'progress' and it comes in cycles. The implications for these theories therefore imply that teachers play an important role in any educational reform and policy making and implementaion in order to make any change in education a worthwhile process.

Autor

Dr. Hileni Magano Kapenda is a lecturer of pedagogy in the Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Namibia for more than ten years. She holds a PGDE from UNAM, a BSc degree from Fort Hare University, a MEd from Ohio University (USA) and a Ph.D (Math Ed) from University of the Western Cape (South Africa).
