The present study is an attempt to generally focus on the relationship between language and the translator's ideology involved in semantic, syntactic, and other choices of his translation and the textual features, and more specifically, to uncover the underlying ideological assumptions invisible in both source and target text and consequently make sure if the translator's ideology is imposed on his translation by adopting Critical Discourse Analysis with particular emphasis on the framework of Dr.Farahzad. The corpus used for this study is a bilingual book named 'DUMBO'. The authors attempt to investigate the differences of lexical choices between the writer and the translator's ideology based on CDA principles. The results of the analysis show that ideology affect the translator's mind and his lexical choices in translating children's literature and the translator has to choose words and grammatical structures which are appropriate for the children, their interests and understanding. The analysis of the data verifies that Critical Discourse Analysis can be a good tool for deconstructing texts to disclose the translator's ideology.
