Dominique Saragaglia was Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Grenoble South Teaching Hospital (France) for 29 years. He has gained considerable experience in orthopaedic traumatology with more than 25,000 patients operated on and 150,000 consultations. He has authored over 200 papers as well as several books and chapters (in French and English). He is now, Professor Emeritus of Orthopaedic surgery at Grenoble-Alpes University, Honorary Member of the SOFCOT (French Orthopaedic Society) and several other international societies, and Member of the French National Academy Surgery. Every morning, during his time as head of department, he reviewed with the residents, all the previous day's trauma to check diagnoses and treatments. In this way, more than 350,000 cases were analysed, from the simplest wound to the most serious trauma. Professor Ali Hassan Chamseddine is Member of the French College of Orthopedic surgeons, Member ofthe National Academy of Surgery (France), and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was President of the Lebanese Orthopedic Society, Chairman of the AO Chapter -Lebanon, and Vice-President of the Pan Arab Orthopedic Association.  Professor Chamseddine has 30 years of surgical and academic activities and responsibilities in Beirut, Lebanon: he was head of division of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at Sahel General Hospital -University Medical Center for 15 years and head of division of Orthopedic and Trauma surgery at the Faculty of Medical Sciences -Lebanese University for 8 years. During his academic track he was responsible of the post-graduate teaching and residency program of Orthopedic and Trauma surgery at the Lebanese University for more than 15 years. Professor Chamseddine is a regular reviewer for international orthopedic peer-review journals. He has authored 45 papers and has more than 150 abstracts and oral presentations in national and international meetings. Professor Chamseddine chaired and organized more than 10 regional and international orthopedic and trauma congresses and courses in Lebanon and the Middle East region. In addition to his orthopedic surgical practice, he has a special interest in trauma surgery and fracture treatment and has developed multiple innovative techniques in the field.
