Treasures from the Deep is about a child's wish to give her Grandma a special gift for her birthday. Ashanti is a shy little girl and is easily scared but she is determined to overcome her fears. It is her Grandma's Birthday but Ashanti only has 75 cents and according to her, "Not even enough for a chocolate bar back home in Canada. And who knows how much a chocolate bar costs in Florida?" Ashanti spots Grandma's book of shells. Her Grandma loves shells and Ashanti realizes they would be the perfect gift for Grandma's birthday. She enlists the help of her Papa and they embark on an adventure in search of Grandma's favourite shells: a Conch, a Shark's Eye, Angel's Wings, and a big Sand Dollar. The setting for Treasurers from the Deep is Mexico Beach, Florida. Like everyone else, I was shocked at the devastation Hurricane Michael wrought on this breathtakingly beautiful area of the Pan Handle. The sugar-white sands, the kaleidoscope of shells and the turquoise water, inspired this story. As a Canadian Snowbird, I spent many enjoyable winters walking along the snow-white beach with the turquoise water lapping at my feet, searching for my Treasurers From The Deep.

Irene Davidson-Fisher is a published author, born in Aberdeen, Scotland. As a child Irene loved to read and write stories, but it wasn't until 2006, when she retired to Minden, Ontario with her husband that she finally took steps to make her dream of writing a reality. Irene is a graduate of the University of Alberta and the Institute of Children's Literature's Basic and Advanced Programmes. Irene is a member of Haliburton Highlands Writer's and Editor's Network (HHWEN), the Reading Writing Connection, and CBI Clubhouse. Irene has made guest appearances at various Ontario locations including Dorset, the Haliburton Highlands and Georgetown. Irene has also been featured on Author's Day at the Ajax, Chapters/Indigo Book Store. Throughout Irene's business career, she put words in other people's mouths writing scripts and speeches, to name a few mediums. Today, Irene's Grandchildren inspire her to use these skills and bring her real and imaginary characters to life. Irene's first book was Robbie Raccoon and the Big Black Blob. Her second book was a Christmas story entitled The Best Present Ever.
