Plants carryout vital process like photosynthesis and provide food and oxygen to human beings. To understand their importance in urban life we decided to make survey of trees in the gardens. Every human being must know their green wealth of the city. Trees are souls of garden and they play very crucial role in beautification. This is first authentic document which provides tree wealth of gardens in the Kolhapur City. We have compiled data from 60 gardens present in the Kolhapur City. In the present study we reported 170 tree species from 136 genera belonging to 51 families. The tree wealth of gardens in Kolhapur City is well documented through this work is useful for future garden development, planning of plantations as well as conservation and multiplication of specific tree species. Let us know and conserve our green heritage.

Ha 8 anni di esperienza di insegnamento a livello UG e PG. Ha una specializzazione di ricerca nel campo della tassonomia delle angiosperme.
