This book is dedicated to my grandchildren: Am'yah, Zamarion, Aven, Az'riyah, and AriYanna. The story is about a prominent African American family living in a small town called Hillis Hill, Georgia. Hillis Hill is a small rural town about twenty miles outside of Columbus, Georgia. Although this story is set in the 1800s, there is no concept of slavery. The first of many series, this book describes characters from the author's family tree and folks and kinfolks. The book is fiction; however, it is based on real-life characters and experiences. Victoria, the narrator, goes upstairs to bed one night to lie down and started thinking about the people who had an impact on her life. Victoria describes folks and kinfolks throughout the book. Food and the cannabis plant are a big part of the families'-the Davies, Hollands, Blacks, and Bakers-gatherings and celebrations. Victoria mentions throughout the book, Hillis Hill, Georgia, where there is a schoolhouse, doctor's office, blacksmith shop, hair salon, hotel, bank, restaurant, railroad company, library, hardware?/?grocery store, telegraph office, newspaper company, and so forth. The little town sits in the middle; surrounding it are the Holland's Ranch, the Black's Ranch, the Baker's Ranch, and the Davie Estate.
