In the absence of any evidence, in 2020, this Court sentenced Kamerhe to 20 years of hard labor. Having appealed to the Court of Appeal of Gombe, Vital Kamerhe saw his sentence reduced to 13 years in 2021. When he arrived at the Court of Cassation, the former Director of Cabinet of the President of the Republic benefited from a decision of cassation with referral, in 2022, before being acquitted on Thursday, June 23, 2022, by the same Court of Appeal of Gombe, otherwise composed, for lack of proof of misappropriation of public funds.
