Malathi arbeitet derzeit als außerordentliche Professorin für Erziehungswissenschaften an der Abteilung für Erziehungswissenschaften (DDE) der Alagappa-Universität in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, Indien. Sie hat sich als Lehrerin für Englisch und Pädagogik an der Hochschule und der Universität hervorgetan. Sie hat einen angesehenen nationalen Bildungs- und Forschungspreis "Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar" erhalten.
