The setting is the fictional Bannockpace Sports & Social Club, and the open mic event for poets is 'hosted' by a one famous comedian and 'gatecrashed' by another ! Each poetic tribute is presented with skill, affection and humour by the author, whose Liverpudlian roots are in evidence throughout.
