In this book it is argued that although Trinidad & Tobago has already undertaken promising steps to flesh out the individual s right to health in respect of people living with HIV/AIDS, there nevertheless is still considerable room for further improvements. Starting with a brief overview of the disease which in the author s eyes is to be classified as a global health issue, the individual s right to health as set forth by laws, treaties and guidelines on the international plane is elaborated in detail. By drawing a comparison to the US bench-mark system in respect of people living with HIV/AIDS, Trinidad & Tobago s own system is evaluated in light of the standards stipulated under international health law. Against this background, the book concludes by making some recommendations concerning possible improvements to the system currently in place in Trinidad & Tobago.
