Garth Nix, geboren 1963 in Melbourne, arbeitete u.a. als Verleger, Buchhandelsvertreter und Zeitungsredakteur. Ab 2002 freier Schriftsteller. Der Autor lebt mit seiner Familie in der Nähe von Sydney.
