When I was 13 years old my life changed. I had been athletic, honor roll-steady boyfriend-then in one split second my life changed. I was hit by a car and then in a coma for 31 days. The doctors gave my parents no sign of survival. I heard medical staff tell me that I would never get out of a wheelchair. That was all I needed to hear. I went from a wheelchair to a walker to a foot brace to a limp. It was from determination and faith. I went on to graduate San Francisco State University, then was a volunteer at Stanford Children's Hospital. Traveled through parts of Europe and the United States. I married then found out what abuse was, I left my then husband at 7 months of pregnancy-fearing for the life of our child. I love writing, reading, cooking, music, traveling, golf, being with friends, and most importantly my two German Shepherd dogs. I went from dreams of being an Entertainer, dancer/singer to the realization of what I could do. The road is hard but very rewarding. And I am so thankful the Lord's help in living everyday.
