As the meeting progresses, some of the generals begin to grow sympathetic towards Octavius, but others start to bristle. "Listen to me, whoever you really are. I don't believe you, nor do I accept anything you are saying. I know you are a liar." Eventually, they become more convinced that the power of the intruders is real and some of them attempt to negotiate a special deal for the United States. Octavius is unimpressed.
