Autorenporträt
Originally a teacher working in the prison system, teaching music, basic literacy and numeracy, Colin Read moved on to complete a graduate diploma in computer education. With an ever present interest in technology and the arts, Colin worked for an extensive period as a provider of IT; technology based video and music; and multimedia professional learning to the education sector. More recently, Colin has completed the Master of Art Therapy and works part time as a Community Mental Health Practitioner. A lot of Colin Read's practice has been greatly influenced by his love of the written word, music, video and an interest in the human condition - particularly that as experienced by those with mental health issues. This is reflected in the melding of these various aspects in much of his creative output, including the recently published Kindle eBook poetry collections listed on this page. Many of the poems in these collections reference or have grown out of Colin's original and ongoing body of creative work, which encompasses a wide variety of art forms including photography, painting, video art and musique concrete (for a range of Colin's music search Reade Collins on Apple Music or most streaming services).
