I thought for some time as to the best title that I could give this short story. In the Greenwood Tulsa communities, there were very many white people not involved in the massacre. This became clear from a little study of the history of the events. So obvious titles like Greenwood or Tulsa or Oklahoma massacre might appear to tar all white citizens with the same racist brush. My search for a suitable title brought me back many years in fact to the year 1877 and to a book completed in that year by Anna Sewell with the title 'Black Beauty'.
