Autorenporträt
Friedrich von Schiller wurde 1759 in Marbach geboren. Auf Befehl des Herzogs Karl Eugen musste der junge Schiller 1773 in die 'Militär-Pflanzschule' eintreten, wo er ab 1775 Medizin studierte; später wurde er Regimentsmedicus in Stuttgart, das er 1782 nach Arrest und Schreibverbot wegen seines Stückes 'Die Räuber' jedoch fluchtartig verließ. 1789 wurde er zum Professor der Geschichte und Philosophie in Jena ernannt, 1799 ließ er sich endgültig in Weimar nieder. Schiller starb am 9.5.1805 in Weimar.
