Turkey has a privileged geographical position and is looking to take advantage of this fact by building energy relations with neighboring countries. It is situated next to the main exporters but also close to the importing countries of Europe, which means it is in the center of the energy corridors. Through its territory pass the energy transport routes, which increases its potential as a transit country and as an energy hub, a status it craves.
