From Ponce de León to Dorian Gray to Benjamin Button, the quest for eternal youth has been a recurring theme in literature. Now it has a new face: Diane Devlin, a modern woman with an age-old longing to stop the hands of time. Not long after her 65th birthday, Diane notices subtle changes in her deteriorating body and begins to wonder if her fondest wish has been granted. Perhaps she has truly stopped aging. In fact, she seems to be growing younger. Wandering through a medical labyrinth, Diane discovers she has experienced a spontaneous genetic mutation. While she savors this unexpected rejuvenation, she wonders if it comes with a dark side. Could the process suddenly reverse? Could it kill her? But she's having fun! The admiration of younger men makes Diane feel great, clothes look fabulous, and she's killing it at the gym. Slowly, however, things go terribly wrong. Her normally caring personality alters, her values shift, and her husband and family feel they don't even know the "new and improved" Diane. Finally, she ends up attracting unwanted attention from her best friend's boyfriend. Although Diane's flattered, even tempted, she's also frightened. She realizes this "gift" could cost her everything, including her marriage and lifelong friendships. What should she do? She faces the hard questions head-on, with surprising and life-changing results.

Bonnie Schroeder was bitten by the writing bug in the fifth grade and never recovered. In addition to Turn Back the Clocks, her other published novels are Mending Dreams and Write My Name on the Sky. She has also completed two feature-length screenplays, one of which, Smoke and Mirrors, was a semi-finalist in the Monterey County Film Commission's competition. Long-form fiction, however, remains her first love.
