Stave Swirler awakens and finds he's a passenger on a bus travelling through a tunnel. He doesn't know where he has been or where he is going. After the tunnel inexplicably revolves, Stave discusses the strange occurrence with two other passengers and they agree that reality has taken a bizarre and surreal turn. An ice cream van drives alongside the bus, matching its speed. And when the side shutter is raised, there is a man inside wearing a featureless, full-length mask and hands like crab claws: an agent of Tremelon Zandar. Can Stave safely leave the bus and tunnel to escape the agent's evil plans? Will he discover who he really is, and the reasons for reality becoming corrupted? "The descriptions are powerful and vivid, and in some ways Stave's nightmarish journey reminded me of a computer game, with he as the hero passing through various 'levels' of skill and understanding" Another solid story from a gifted writer"
