Gail Pendleton's favorite place in the whole world is her summer house on the Delaware River in Pennsylvania. It's a magnet for friends and relatives of all ages. Sunday lunch for 35? No problem. Parking? That's another issue entirely. When she's not swimming or rafting -- or just relaxing on the porch -- she has worked in journalism as as editor, columnist, and reporter, as an adjunct professor of English at Sussex County Community College, Newton, NJ, and as a Presbyterian minister who likes to leave a congregation both thinking and laughing. She also is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children learned how to swim in the Delaware River. Some serious stuff: BA English -- Montclair State College M.Div. -- Princeton Theological Seminary MA English -- William Paterson University Member of Newton Presbytery Numerous awards for column and feature writing Everybody asks: When the river floods does your house get flooded? Yes. The basement has been flooded four times since my family has owned this house. What do you do? We call in the troops to get the mess cleaned up. This is a family project. What will you do if the house washes away on a flood? Then, we'll treasure the memories.
