The son who is at the centre of it all, is caught between two loves, both possessive and obsessive, equally important but suffocating in a most debilitating manner. Added to this is the issue of religion which attempts to resolve the crisis but inadvertently contributes to the sad resolution of the conflict.

Hope Eghagha is a professor in the Department of English, University of Lagos where he teaches Drama, Theatre Practice, Theory of Drama, and Creative Writing. He is also a columnist with The Guardian newspaper on which Editorial Board he also sits as a Visiting Member.
