Two Sides of a Coin: Book I of the Phoenix Series is an engaging and fast-paced novel that follows the live of Katheryn Kline, the daughter of a major-general in the United States Marine Corps who created a living legacy to defend the rights of all. A series of tragedies changes the trajectory of Katheryn's life, starting with the accidental death of her older brother. Unknowingly caught in the aftermath of her late husband's crimes, Katheryn and her daughters find themselves in a desperate, dangerous situation, living on the street in hiding. As the narrative unfolds, a surprising turn of events-and the strength of her character-puts Katheryn back on the path she was intended for by her father's design. Filled with both action and romance, Two Sides of the Coin explores the intersection between circumstance and determination and challenges readers to examine their own perceptions. About the Author LeAnn Penndragon has spent much of her life fighting for equality and fair treatment. As a 100 percent disabled Vietnam veteran and a transgender woman, she has personal experience with combating bigotry on numerous levels and has worked to defend the rights of all those who serve. The author speaks to other veterans about learning to overcome handicaps and continuing to pursue passions and interests. For Ms. Penndragon, this has included gardening as a way to bring forth life, not death. She seeks to live by the motto, "If you can dream it, you can do it!"
