Autorenporträt
ROBERT A. VITAS is Assistant Executive Director and Treasurer of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society at Northwestern University and is a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Sociology there. He is the author of The United States and Lithuania: The Stimson Doctrine of Nonrecognition (Praeger, 1990). With Sam Sarkesian, he prepared an earlier volume of documents on U.S. National Security Policy and Strategy covering the years from 1947 to 1986 (Greenwood, 1988). JOHN ALLEN WILLIAMS is Associate Professor of Political Science and Department Chair at Loyola University Chicago. He is also Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society, and is a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve. With Sam C. Sarkesian and Fred B. Bryant, he co-authored Soldiers, Society, and National Security (1995), and co-edited and contributed to The U.S. Army in a New Security Era (1990) with Sam C. Sarkesian.
