This book includes the methodology for adapting drip irrigation systems in the canal command area of irrigation project under rotational water supply. The methodology consists of three stages, namely working out of existing cropping pattern and existing net annual return of the project, development of optimum crop plan and reservoir releases under surface irrigated command and development of optimum crop plan and reservoir releases under drip irrigated command. The optimum crop plan is obtained for surface irrigated command and drip irrigated command by using linear programming technique. The objective function was to obtain the maximum net benefit from the irrigation to areas allocated to different crops with constraints of water availability and crop area. This methodology was applied to Uben irrigation scheme situated near village Bhatgam of Bhesan Taluka of Junagadh district falls under the Saurashtra region of Gujarat state. I am sure that this book will be useful source andact as guide to irrigation planners, farmers, graduate and post graduate students, teacher and extension workers working in the field of soil and water conservation engineering.

Engg.) and Ph.D. in Soil and Water Engineering, from JAU,Junagadh and working as Research Engineer in AICRP on Plasticulture Engineering & Technology, JAU, Junagadh. He is engaged in teaching, research and extension activities related to plastic mulching,protected cultivation and micro irrigation system.
