Jim McDowell is a veteran British Columbia historian, who worked for many years as an educator, freelance writer, and independent reporter. He has published several books and booklets about B.C. history, including Hamatsa: The Enigma of Cannibalism on the Pacific Northwest Coast and Father August Brabant: Saviour or Scourge? He resides in Steveston, B.C.
