James (Jim) Burd Brewster was raised in Albany, NY, sailed on Lake Champlain, and navigated a Polar Icebreaker for the Coast Guard. His writing career started with telling the Uncle Rocky, Fireman stories to his two oldest boys. He lives near Washington, DC with his wife, Katie, where they are visited by their five grown children and five grandchildren.
