Autorenporträt
Kanaci conducts research on the molecular basis of learning and memory in the field of neuroscience at the University of Cologne. He graduated from Istanbul University, Turkey as a geneticist, and in 2016, he completed his master studies at Bogaziçi University. He trained young geneticists until 2020. His first short story book, titled Yapi ve Yasa (Formation and Law, Epona Publications, 2021), was shortlisted for the 2022 Vedat Türkali Literature Awards. He is the short fiction editor of the literary magazine Prolog Dergi. He has been included in several anthologies with his short stories and poems. Currently, he works on his novella in Turkish and his first film screenplay in English. His stories in Turkish and English have been published in various literary magazines and platforms, along with his interviews and writings about his book, can also be accessed via demrekanaci.wordpress
