There is rapid growth of electronic banking due to the development of ICT in banking sectors. The development of ICT in financial industry has stirred the increase of cybercrimes in the world. Cybercrime is a global problem that is engulfing the world at an alarming rate and Tanzania is not immune from it. There are national and global efforts aiming at fighting against cybercrimes through enactment of cyber laws in order to create enabling environment for growth of electronic banking at the same time to protect the users.According to the literature surveyed, there are few studies conducted in Tanzania in this area. Some of studies have been overtaken by occurrence of events, such as the enactment of laws like Electronic and Postal Communication Act, 2010, Electronic Transactions Act, 2015 National Payment System Act, 2015 and Cybercrimes Act, 2015. Apart from having the legislations in this area, cybercrime in banking is increasing. This fact attracts the need of a comprehensive study on the current legislations with the view of giving advice on how to combat and contain electronic banking crimes.
