Currently, Eating Disorders continue to be present in many areas of our lives such as family, school or media. The easy accessibility to information and resources on the Internet has also been directly related to these pathologies. Some websites or blogs are devoted to the maintenance and support of Eating Disorders, often to the extent of promoting them as a lifestyle choice. Despite the long historical evolution of these pathologies, as well as the high rates of incidence and prevalence, and in spite of them being serious psychiatric conditions carrying important consequences for the patient s development, currently, the magnitude and impact of the problems caused by Eating Disorders are still not well understood by the general population. Therefore, they have become a public health challenge. This book is intended to offer an introduction and approach to understanding and addressing the problem of Eating Disorders.
