The thought of Monsignor Jesús Manuel Jáuregui has been studied from different epistemological and methodological perspectives, one of which is historiography, where the event, the testimony and the dated trace is the guiding principle. In view of this situation, the study of Bishop Jauregui is proposed from another approach: the hermeneutics of the text. Here, the present investigation has as its central purpose to understand his educational thought beginning with the world of the text. The theoretical importance of the work lies in the possibility of making a contribution to the re-understanding of thought in the light of contemporary reality. In methodological terms, the work corresponds to a research oriented in the human interpretative paradigm, with a type of analytical-interpretative research, supported by the Hermeneutic method in Ricoeur's conception (2004), in the theory of the text and characterized by following a procedural design built from hermeneutics and concretized in the interpretation contained in mimesis I, II, III (prefiguration-configuration and re-figuration). To this end, four textual works were chosen for interpretation.
