Unemployment represents the main imbalance that manifests itself on the labour market, being a social phenomenon present in all societies of the world, and its extent and structure are relevant to the state of an economy as well as to the well-being of its citizens. Starting from these considerations, the book carries out a theoretical approach to the labour market, unemployment and social policies in the field of employment and unemployment, complemented by a research part that combines the quantitative and the qualitative perspective. A chapter of the book tackles the analysis of unemployment in the pandemic period.The results of the research carried out, embodied in objective and subjective data, can be taken into consideration by future analyzes of unemployment and policies in the field of employment and unemployment, as terms of comparison and as solutions to some potential problems in the field.
