The most vulnerable and affected group by the negative impacts of climate change are the least developed countries. This fact is contributed by lack of structural and financial resources to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) developed a technology transfer framework to create a mechanism so that low carbon technologies (LCT's) are transferred to the least developed country in an effective and sustainable manner in order to curb and reduce the amount of GHG emissions and mitigate the impacts of Climate Change. The book analyses the suitability of the framework in enabling transfer of technology by assessing the suitability of framework using Tanzania as a case study as well as identifying channels of diffusion of LCT's. Among other things, the book identifies climate entrepreneurs as key players in diffusion and deployment of LCT's and the significance of a bottom up approach in technology transfering process where local participation and involvement need to be enhanced and strengthened from the initial stages of the process.
