David A. Wimsett was born in Burbank, California, directly between NBC and Walt Disney Studios, a fact he believes had an effect on his life. He immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada in 2001 after visiting to research his first novel. He worked in the computer field as a programmer, web developer, database administrator, technical writer and project manger. He now devotes his time to writing poetry, short stories, novels and screenplays. He is the author of four award winning novels and an award winning anthology. In addition to being an author, Mr. Wimsett is a film maker, photographer and composer. He has appeared on stage in comedies, dramas and musicals. He teaches writing workshops and mentors writers from around the world. Mr. Wimsett is a member of several professional writing associations including the Writers' Union of Canada, the Canadian Freelance Guild, and the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia where he sits on the professional Writer's Council, the Creative Nonfiction Collection and Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators & Performers.
