To ascertain their botanical names and distribution is not always easy unless one is botanically sound and has a good literature. Many people, however, lack the time and facilities for such research and are unable to visit botanical gardens where correctly labeled specimens of these trees may be found. This book accordingly gives common/local names, origin, distribution in Gujarat, uses and flowering-fruiting phenology of some of the unique trees of Gujarat, together with colored photographs. It aims to be of service to those who wish to learn not only the names of these unique trees but also something about their origin, phenology and uses.

Dr. Padamnabhi Nagar is actively engaged with floristics of Gujarat; he is a life-member of IAAT, BGCI & having a teaching experience of 15 year.Mr. Karan Rana is an IUCN Red List Assessor, with his PhD on endemic and threatened plants of Gujarat.Mr. Akash Vanzara is a plant taxonomist contributing the revision study on legumes of central Gujarat.
