Autorenporträt
Reluctant to enter the mundane cycles of the real world, Annie Marie waited to solidify her contribution to society until it correlated with her creative expression. Now, as an educator of children and an aspiring writer, she takes comfort in knowing she can hide out in her self-made creative bubble when the world becomes a bit too chaotic. After a change of heart, Annie decided to change her major from journalism (who likes to be told what to write, anyway) to education. At 27 years old, Annie Marie holds a masters in special education where she loves helping her students find their own creative path, and currently receives her inspiration, in addition to solving her daily existential crises, north of New York City. When she is not writing or teaching, she can be found hiking, failing at learning the ukulele, reading the work of others, or trying to teach her young daughter how to be an amazing little human. Annie first got into writing after her third grade teacher (thanks Mrs. B) read a poem of hers to the class and quietly mentioned she had a gift. A few winding paths later, there came a point where a void of expression was noticed. A midnight hike up a mountain, accompanied by some scattered lightning, brought forth a conversation that would change her perspective on life, thus birthing the idea of her debut poetry collection "Universal Breaths". A book dedicated to sharing the magic of life's balanced patterns.
